The (ISC)2 Penn Highlands chapter is excited to pass on information about a free CTF (Capture The Flag) event. This CTF is offered by Invoca, an AI-powered conversation intelligence company. It is free to register and compete and it is remote this year.

This will follow the format of a Jeopardy-style CTF, where challenges can be selected from a board that are worth a certain number of points. If the flag is discovered, the points are awarded. A leaderboard for individuals and teams will be maintained. Skill levels range from beginner to advanced, so there is no experience necessary to compete! This is a wonderful opportunity for cyber/infosec-minded folks to get some experience, to learn by doing, and to win potential rewards for flag points.
Our Penn Highlands chapter is encouraging members and contacts to get involved. As more event details become available we will be able to offer chapter prizes/swag for participation, with higher prizes awarded based on leaderboard points. We will form a team for the chapter that you can join if we have your contact information (if you receive this email directly from us then we have it). But you do not need to join the chapter team. You can make your own team with other chapter members or compete individually.
The event is scheduled for the weekend of April 22-24, 2022. You will need a free meetup.com account to register for the event, and a free Slack account to communicate with team members or chapter officers. If you haven't used Slack, it is free to use and there is a web browser client or a full software client. Chapter officers will be available to offer help and coordinate team activity. Register early and let us know you have done so! As more details become available we will send another email and coordinate chapter participation.
We hope to see you online!
